Raegan’s World

Rae loves animals – any size, shape, or form. It doesn’t matter. She loves to catch lizards. She even told me that I need to touch more bugs and lizards – to which I politely declined. I was never into catching animals especially those of reptilian in nature.

When she catches a lizard or other wild animal, she knows that we follow the catch and release policy. So she knows that this lizard will live out its day free and in the wild but one that was born in captivity and available at the local pet store is a different story. I would say that the request for a pet lizard began before she let this one go. Her pleas lasted a few days and have finally died out – well at least until she is reminded by something that she wants a pet lizard. Maybe we can keep putting her off until she is either past this stage or no longer living with us.

Taken on Easter at Joe’s work. We had stopped by for a few minutes. Rae loves visiting his work. She loves the white boards and to create games on them. But here she is watching Daddy do something really important – like harvest his crops in Castleville.

It has been a while since I posted anything here. I still have some ideas for this blog. Raegan is now at the age where she wants to make her own website – so we will probably create a subdomain off Raesmom.com for her website where she wants to put My Little Pony and other copyrighted images – making a game out of it. Let’s hope Hasbro doesn’t come after us.

She has become quite the artist – so maybe we can convince her to use her own drawings. Also I’d like to put some of her Kindergarten work here, too. I keep saying we are going to scrapbook it all but really I don’t think that will happen – but electronic scrapbooking will not only preserve her work but also teach her computer skills.

Raegan loves to visit the Audubon Zoo. I will mention visiting the local zoo and she will ask if it is the Audubon Zoo. When I say no then she is not interested in going. This year we are going to become members, so we can go more often. Here is Rae navigating with the map. She loves maps just like her Daddy.

What she most enjoys the animated dinosaur exhibit. On this trip, one even spit on Daddy. It was quite funny since it totally caught him off guard. Here is Rae petting one.

We have been twice to the zoo and have yet to see all of the exhibits. Our last trip it rained nearly two hours while we were there. In fact, we made a break for the Jeep in the monsoon. We did stop at the souvenir shop for a dry shirt and towel.

Raegan found the wings to her Tinkerbell costume and wanted to wear it. So we put it on and then she wanted to wear her fancy shoes. She danced around a little bit and posed for the camera.

Raegan now is in a booster seat! No more car seat. She really likes it and couldn’t wait for us to put it in the car. Daddy got it installed and we had to go for a ride that evening just to test it out.

Here are some pictures from MobiCon – a gaming convention in Mobile. We went in May of this year. Raegan loved staying in the hotel and liked the swimming pool, too.

Raegan went to her first tea party about a month ago. Well, really her second tea party(first one was at MobiCon) This was put on by our play group in Hattiesburg.

We met some friends for dinner the other night and exchanged Christmas gifts. Part of mine was a stick of lipstick that Raegan was immediately taken with. She had to wear some right then.

Before we left the restaurant, we took some pictures. But before we snapped any photos, my friend put on some lipstick. Raegan must have taken notice because the next day she wanted to put on some lipstick. Then she said “take a picture.” Here is her pose for that picture –
